Season 4 Episode Guide

Episode 1 - Chapter One: Betrayal

With the casino gone and her friendship with Quiet Ann in tatters, Desna is prepared to return to her roots as a money laundering nail mogul. But when Palmetto starts to undergo gentrification, the salon’s rent is tripled. Unwilling to give up on her American Dream, Desna decides to sell opiates herself, propelling her further into a world of criminality and setting her up as Uncle Daddy’s rival. When she and her crew steal Uncle Daddy’s supply of pills, a war between the two drug dealers is ignited, starting Desna down the road to becoming a true gangster. The conflict is quickly escalated when Quiet Ann, unable to find a job and still blaming Desna for her wife’s death, joins Uncle Daddy’s operation. Meanwhile, Dean’s search for his true calling leads him to launch a strip Q&A on Instagram, and Polly torches her former lover Joe’s car in a bid for closure.

Episode 2 - Chapter Two: Vengeance

In order to claim her American Dream, Desna devises a plan to sell Oxy hidden in nail polish bottles to a higher-class clientele, and soon finds herself slinging pills to yuppies at a local wellness expo – where she is quickly sabotaged by Uncle Daddy and Quiet Ann, escalating the drug war. As the conflict between the two sides heats up, Uncle Daddy demands that Bryce put pressure on Jenn to quit Desna’s crew, but Jenn refuses and the pair must reach a truce to save their marriage. Meanwhile, Polly meets the elderly, rich Baron von Reichler (when she attempts to scam him by stepping in front of his Rolls-Royce). Virginia hires a new nail artisan, Georgia, a stripper who bears shocking similarities to herself, and whom she believes she can save from the pole. Later, while hooking up with her new lover, Tony the delivery guy, Desna hatches her next scheme: selling her pills via multi-level marketing.

Episode 3 - Chapter Three: Ambition

Desna launches her new multi-level Oxy sales operation, which will use her most loyal (and desperate) clients as dealers and recruiters.

Episode 4 - Chapter Four: Loyalty

Desna is elated with Claws Up’s success — until it’s discovered someone is stealing and reselling their pills under a different label.

Episode 5 - Chapter Five: Comeuppance

Jenn and Bryce wrestle with the reality that their criminal behavior has caused them to lose custody of their children. As two low-income, ex-cons, the system is biased against them. Desna, feeling partly responsible, offers Jenn and Bryce the use of her condo. After Uncle Daddy is awarded custody of the kids and then promptly misplaces them, the girls go to a foster home. Jenn and Bryce commit a spur-of-the-moment kidnapping. When the Hussers turn themselves in, they are met by a guilt-ridden Uncle Daddy and Quiet Ann.

Episode 6 - Chapter Six: Greed

Desna opens up a second nail salon. But when a rival salon owner demands a monthly payoff, Desna takes drastic measures, securing her place as a hardened gangster.

Episode 7 - Chapter Seven: Ascension

With all of her dealers abandoning Claws Up as a result of Uncle Daddy’s beatings, Desna vows to dismantle his organization from the inside out.

Episode 8 - Chapter Eight: Reckoning

After realizing Tony is an undercover DEA agent, Desna must rally her crew to avoid being taken down by the feds. But when Jenn ODs, the crew begins to uncover buried truths that threaten to unravel their tight-knit bonds. Desna must confront the ugly consequences of her rise to power. As things begin to look up for Desna and Quiet Ann’s friendship, Desna reveals to Ann that Tony is DEA. Ann storms off, contacts Tony and offers to become an informant in exchange for immunity. Meanwhile, newly widowed Polly attends a reading of the Baron’s will where she learns the Baron knew she was a con artist, and that he would rather give his money to a hard-working grifter than to his spoiled children. When Eve becomes pregnant with Dean’s child, the couple decides they want to become parents. Ken begins to realize that he needs to learn how to be alone. Having recovered from her OD, Jenn teams up with Virginia and the two decide to forge a path ahead, free of Desna.

Episode 9 - Chapter Nine: Wrath

With the crew in shambles and the threat of the DEA looming, Desna plots an exit strategy for herself and her girls, which will only work if she can reunite them all. However, after Bryce kills Tony in a jealous rage and then confesses to Uncle Daddy, Desna’s plans are accelerated. Seeing what a mess her actions have created, Desna delivers a sincere apology to her friends, and the women come together to help frame Uncle Daddy for Tony’s murder – all except Quiet Ann, who is now secretly working as an informant for the DEA. However, while she’s executing her plan, Uncle Daddy catches Desna, and the two find themselves in a deadly standoff. Just when it seems Uncle Daddy is about to take Desna out, she steps up and ends their rivalry for good in a single shot.

Episode 10 - Chapter Ten: Mercy

The series comes to an explosive close as Desna and her crew prepare to escape from Palmetto. But before she can go, Desna must jump through hoops to make sure she has all of her girls with her. Finally, with the feds distracted by a fake drug buy orchestrated by Desna, our gangster queen of Palmetto has her final showdown with her nemesis, Quiet Ann. After some harsh words are exchanged, Desna shoots Ann dead and then leaves with her crew on a boat bound for Havana…which explodes just as it reaches open water. However, in a truly Clawsian twist, we find the crew (including Ann!) safely at their destination. In a heartfelt message to her brother Dean, still living his life back home, Desna explains how she and Quiet Ann worked together to fool the feds and make their escape. Desna now realizes that the American Dream isn’t about money and power, but about having the love, support and loyalty of her friends and family.
