His first one-on-one battle with a homunculus begins! |
Episode 4 - Another New LifeKazuki and Tokiko search for a student who has been absent from school for the past four days and come across a sickly third-year student who turns out to be the creator of the homunculi, Koshaku Chono. Chono explains that he has an incurable illness and used his ancestor's research on alchemy to gain the technology to produce homunculi and eventually reach his goal of attaining an immortal body by becoming a humanoid homunculus. Tokiko is outraged that Chono is willing to sacrifice other lives in order to defy his own death and tries to destroy the core homunculus made from Chono’s own cells. |
Episode 5 - To Protect SomeoneEvading the homunculus Washio's attack, Kazuki and Tokiko fall back to form a plan. The two devise a series of high-speed attacks, but Washio's natural instinct and warrior experience sees through their plan. He slashes Tokiko, and Kazuki succeeds in delivering a single blow to Washio. But Tokiko is heavily wounded, and worse, the lodged homunculus has progressed up to her spinal cord. Kazuki fights on, and Washio feels a stubborn strength growing within the boy. |
Episode 6 - The Butterfly of Black DeathSeeking the antidote, Kazuki goes to Chono's house, where Chono's father tells him he has cut ties with his son. Kazuki heads to the warehouse behind the Chono household, the very place where his ancestor conducted his alchemy research, where Chono is waiting alone for the core homunculus to hatch. Chono welcomes Kazuki and says he will give him the antidote but will not hand over the homunculus, his only chance for survival. Kazuki advises Chono that whether he’s human or homunculus, he will die alone, though Chono doesn't seem to care. |
Episode 7 - Whether or Not You're a HypocriteCaptain Bravo of the Alchemist Army recruits Kazuki to be Alchemist Warrior. To evade the danger in front of her without harming the students, Tokiko must find and kill Jinnai! |
Episode 9 - The Hayasaka TwinsOne rainy afternoon, Kazuki comes across two third-year students, school class president Ouka Hayasaka and her younger twin brother and star player of the Kendo Club, Shusui. Kazuki connects with Shusui's desire to become as strong as possible, and he helps out with Shusui's practice. Acknowledging each other's skills, Kazuki and Shusui quickly become friends. But the Hayasaka twins are in fact followers of the LXE, under orders to search out and kill the Alchemist Warriors hiding within Ginsei High. |
Episode 10 - It Seems We're Well MatchedBoth Kazuki and the Hayasaka twins cannot hide their shock at learning each other's identities as Alchemist Warrior and LXE. But the Hayasaka twins are determined to fight. Kazuki proposes to battle Shusui one on one until Ouka returns from shutting down the school security system. Shusui hands Kazuki the first strike, but he deflects it with his kakugane. Activating his own kakugane, Shusui produces his Buso Renkin, Sword Samurai X, which has the property of absorbing any energy that it comes into contact with. |
Episode 11 - 'Til Death Do Us PartShusui recalls his earliest memories: being abducted by a woman claiming to be his mother and the days he spent in confinement. The twins grew up never questioning the closed world they lived in. Eventually, their "mother" died and the twins were rescued from near starvation and taken in by Dr. Butterfly. Since then, both sister and brother have only wished to live together for eternity as a homunculus. When Tokiko tries to kill off the twins, Kazuki pleads for their lives because they are still human. |
Episode 12 - CarnivalIn the forest outside of Ginsei City, Bravo, Kazuki, and Tokiko decide to infiltrate the LXE hideout and take down the LXE before they can revive the Warrior Traitor, but they find the place empty except for Moonface, who explains that Dr. Butterfly has left for Ginsei High to use the school's students as sacrifices to revive the Warrior Traitor. Bravo stays behind to deal with Moonface, and Kazuki and Tokiko rush back to school, only to have their path blocked by a mysterious fog. With the fog-covered school isolated from the outside world, hordes of humanoid homunculi prepare to attack the students. |
Episode 13 - Signs of DeathBravo rages in a seemingly never-ending battle against Moonface, while Tokiko cannot help but question and fear the intense power Kazuki is displaying as he destroys the hordes of homunculi while his friends cheer him on. Then a kakugane-equipped Papillon enters the scene and begins a battle against Dr. Butterfly. Butterfly attempts to break down Papillon's mind by making him remember his lonesome and fragile past as a human, but Papillon cuts his way through with Near-Death Happiness. Amidst all the chaos, the Warrior Traitor finally awakens. |
