Studied ballet as a girl and, at one point, planned to follow in the footsteps of her mother, world-class ballerina Adela Adamowa. Began her acting career on Argentinian TV at age 17; she also worked as a model. Relocated to Mexico in 1979 at the urging of a TV producer who wanted her for a telenovela. Graduated college with a law degree. Her 1986 wedding to fellow actor Humberto Zurita was preceded by the marriage of their characters on their telenovela, Thoroughbred. Received a papal blessing (via telegram) for her marriage to Zurita.
