Sideshow Bob opens a restaurant under an assumed name and lures the Simpsons to it, then, seemingly, dies.

In this Emmy®-winning episode, Homer cannot remember the events of the previous night, when something terrible happened to Marge and his family disappeared.

Homer's mother returns to him for good -- then dies. To cope with his grief he tries to honor her unusual last wishes.

The season ends with Mr. Burns losing a penny, just as it began with him finding one. We see the rise of Lisa as Krusty's assistant, narrated by Mel.
