Episode 1 - Emily

Emily, 26, grew up struggling to meet her parents' high expectations. Despite winning many academic and athletic honors, Emily suffered from depression and low self-esteem, and her shameful feelings intensified when she became a date-rape victim in college. She dieted in hopes of regaining control of her emotions and life, but now she weighs less than 90 pounds. Her family's last hope is an Intervention that will stop her from starving herself to death.
Episode 2 - Follow-Up: Ryan and Hubert

In this follow-up episode, we look at how two people have fared since their interventions. Ryan, an OxyContin addict, was in and out of treatment for months before dropping out entirely and hitting bottom. Now he's back in rehab, but he's having trouble following the rules and he'll go to jail if he's kicked out. And Hubert, a former alcoholic, is nine months sober and has a new job. But he still struggles with the death of his father and avoiding an old friend.
Episode 4 - Jason

Jason, 23, was born into a strict Southern Baptist family. His father, a preacher, and his unstable mother doled out excessive punishments. But when Jason's mother revealed she's a lesbian, Jason's father was banished from the church and had to take several jobs to feed his family. Left with no supervision, Jason turned to drugs and alcohol. And now his younger sister, Joy, is heading down the same self-destructive path, too. Can a double intervention save them?
Episode 5 - Ben and Josh

Ben, 25, experienced a childhood filled with domestic violence, homelessness and isolation. He never got to fulfill the potential of his 170 I.Q. and found a new way to find comfort when he was in high school--a drug called DXM. Now, Ben spends his days shoplifting, panhandling, and even prostituting himself to finance his drug addiction. Desperate to help Ben, his mother arranges an intervention that's her last hope for saving his life. Next, a talented singer and the owner of his own karaoke business, 22-year-old Josh is addicted to food and weighs 550 lbs. Josh's father, Rex, has the same weight problem--at 317 lbs., he's a diabetic who's had six strokes. Now, Rex watches helplessly as Josh follows in his footsteps toward an early death. Josh's mother and two brothers hope that an intervention will be a wake-up call for the whole family to choose health.
Episode 6 - Tressa

Tressa, 32, attended college on a track and field scholarship and became one of the world's top female shot-putters, earning a spot on the U.S. Olympic team. But Tressa's dreams were shattered when a routine drug test revealed that she had been living a double life as an Olympic hopeful and an IV drug user. With her Olympic career in shambles, Tressa uses crystal meth daily as her life spirals out of control. Can her family step in and save Tressa before she loses not only her career, but her life?
Episode 8 - Brad

The chaos and bloodshed that Brad witnessed as a young soldier in Iraq, including the death of a close friend, left him emotionally damaged. He now suffers post-traumatic stress disorder and uses alcohol and marijuana to quell the endless nightmares and flashbacks that haunt him. Brad's temper also flares and he's had several incidents of blackout drinking which have led to two car accidents. His parents and sisters are terrified that Brad will kill himself or someone else in a drunken stupor. An intervention is their final attempt to save his life.
Episode 10 - Chad

Chad, 34, was once a pro-cyclist at the top of his game. After a difficult divorce by his parents and a troubled childhood that sent him to juvenile hall for nine months for felony arson, Chad needed direction. His father introduced him to cycling at age 15, and Chad had a natural gift. Chad went pro almost immediately and cycled on the same team as Lance Armstrong for the United Sates Postal Service. After getting kicked off the team for "personality conflicts", Chad was crushed. He started to dabble with drugs and alcohol while racing on smaller teams. As his drug use grew, his racing took a back seat until he quit altogether to do drugs full time. Chad is now homeless on the streets of Sacramento, California, panhandling, smoking crack cocaine, and drinking alcohol all day. He does not shower and he sleeps in a deserted lot. The only thing of value he owns is a beat up dirt bike that gets him around, from corner to corner, crack house to crack house. Chad's family can't believe their once successful, athletic son has given it all up to crack. Their many efforts to get him off the streets have failed. Their last hope is an intervention.
Episode 11 - Dan

Dan, 40, lives on a stunning Hawaiian Island. He is the proud father of a beautiful baby girl Ava, and has a loving, devoted wife Sarah. He is a sensitive, insightful man who writes poetry, loves music, and works on a whale watching boat. Dan should be spending his days enjoying paradise and basking in the love of his wife and child, but sadly, everything that Dan holds dear is being destroyed by his addiction to alcohol, which he uses to numb his deep emotional pain and memories of his less than idyllic childhood. When Dan was 14, his oldest brother was sentenced to death for rape and murder. Dan spent much of his youth feeling ashamed of the stigma brought on by his brother's crime, as well as abandoned by his parents, who were completely consumed in their quest to save their son's life. In his 20s, Dan escaped to Hawaii, but it wasn't enough. Despite the peaceful island tranquility that Maui has to offer, he turned to alcohol. Decades of binge drinking have finally caught up to Dan, who now drinks an average of 20 beers a day in between shots of hard liquor. His drunkenness often erupts into violence and rage, which terrifies his wife Sarah. She fears the negative impact growing up with an alcoholic father will have on their young daughter. Sarah knows she must take a stand. She desperately needs the support of Dan's family to intervene, and ultimately give Dan a choice -- go to treatment or lose his family forever.
Episode 12 - Sandra

She sits in her garage every day, popping painkillers, anti-depressants, anti-psychotics and sleeping pills. Sandra's pill use is so bad that her two sons, 17 and 11, have left the house. Her best friend, Julie, moved in with her, and although Julie suffers from multiple sclerosis, she takes care of all the housework. Julie and Sandra's husband, Dan, ration Sandra's pills so she doesn't overdose. They know they're enabling her, but they're afraid of what will happen if they stop. Sandra's family is ready to try an intervention, but they're not sure she'll ever choose her family over her addiction.
Episode 14 - Marie

From the day she was born, Marie was dealt a difficult hand in life. The 49-year-old Sophia Loren look-alike was born into an Italian-mob family in Harlem, New York. When her parents' marriage dissolved, Marie grew up without a father, and she and her mother struggled with extreme poverty. An incredibly smart woman, Marie wanted to go to college. But at the urging of her very traditional mother, she gave up her dream and got married at 17. Marie was unhappily married three times, but had three beautiful children. Determined to give her children everything she didn't have in life, Marie threw herself into building them up, but never truly found happiness until she became a successful matchmaker. Despite her own tragic love life, she was a master at pairing up strangers. Marie became a well-known socialite and gained national notoriety in a matter of months. She graced magazine covers and appeared on shows like 60 Minutes, 48 Hours and The Howard Stern Show. Then Marie met the love of her life, her fourth husband, Bora - an addict and alcoholic. Marie tried to clean him up, but ultimately he was the catalyst for Marie's own addiction to alcohol. Within a year of her wedding date, Marie slipped into full-blown alcoholism. She lost her business and became a falling-down drunk. Now, seven years later, her children and mother are at their wit's end. Bora died last summer due to complications with alcohol and Marie is headed down the same road -- fast. Marie's family knows an intervention is her last hope.
Episode 15 - Tom

Growing up in a South Boston neighborhood run by the Irish mob, Tom got caught up in the gangster lifestyle. By his 20s, he was dealing drugs and running with the wiseguys while holding down his day job as a fireman at the Boston Fire Department. Throughout it all, Tom remained a dedicated and loving father to his four children. Eventually, Tom's other life caught up with him after being indicted on drug charges. He lost everything - his house, his job, and his family's respect. Can an intervention help Tom and heal his fractured family?
Episode 16 - Asa

Born into a mixed-race family in a predominantly white town, Asa struggled with low self-esteem and body image growing up. Classmates teased him because of his size, ethnicity, and effeminate manner. Desperate to loss weight, Asa became bulimic. He came out as a gay man at 19 and started using hard drugs and drinking heavily. For the past 10 years, Asa has been working towards his college degree. Being a medical science student, he understands how his eating disorder and alcoholism are affecting him, but he's been unable to stop. His family now realizes that an intervention is their last chance to help Asa.
Episode 17 - Derek

Thirty-five-year-old Derek was once a health-conscious championship bodybuilder and a successful property owner. He had a beautiful wife and his whole life in front of him. But when he turned 30, Derek felt he was "over the hill" and began to experience severe depression. He started drinking to cope with the pressures of marriage and the responsibilities of getting older. When his wife left, Derek's alcoholism became even worse. Derek's days are all the same - sitting in his dark basement, smoking and drinking for hours and bemoaning the loss of his wife. His health and memory are deteriorating. He narrowly survived one suicide attempt and his family is worried he'll try to kill himself again. An intervention is their last hope.
Episode 18 - Allison

Allison was a beautiful, gifted pre-med student, well on her way to becoming a surgeon. But despite her academic success, the trauma of being molested as a child and her parents' brutal divorce still haunted her. Allison turned to drugs to cope with her unbearable feelings. Not wanting to risk her academic status, Allison inhaled computer dust remover, undetectable in drug tests but potentially fatal with each breath. Eventually her erratic behavior and absence from classes got Allison dropped from the pre-med program, but by then she could not stop inhaling the lethal chemicals. Allison is currently inhaling up to ten cans of dust remover a day. She is often seen driving and inhaling in her car; she's been the cause of at least one accident because she drives while impaired. Allison's mother has sent her daughter to countless doctors, psychiatrists, and treatment facilities to no avail. She contacted "Intervention" in a desperate attempt to save her daughter's life.
