Episode 1 - Protected SpeciesHarry Jinks, a friend of Tom's, is beaten up and robbed. Tom is adamant to catch the culprit but he is stopped in his tracks by organized crime when it turns out that the suspect is an escaped criminal about to go into witness protection after he brings down a known criminal. |
Episode 2 - Stop for a BiteGrace Macdonald arrives in Mount Thomas to do an internal efficiency audit and the Heelers realize that cuts will be made somewhere so all are fighting for their area. Meanwhile, when Compo Hayes orders a pie at the pub and bites into a dead mouse, the Heelers have to investigate a food-contamination scare in Mount Thomas. |
Episode 3 - The Long & Winding RoadClare and Eva, two foreign backpackers, arrive in Mount Thomas and Wayne is instantly smitten with Clare. The following morning Eva is found dead and a murder investigation ensues. Meanwhile, Nick goes all out to secure a job as a watchman at Mount Thomas. |
Episode 4 - The Old School TieWhen a light plane goes down in dense bushland near Mt. Thomas, leaving just two survivors, the Heelers are involved in a search and rescue operation, discovering a prominent politician dragging a dead girl from the wreckage. And the crash scene investigation throwing up inconsistencies in the events. |
Episode 5 - MotherloveWhen a bikie gang arrives in Mt Thomas, Holly McLeod, an ex-bikie, prefers the company of the gang to caring for her two children, who are found locked in a car by Maggie and Wayne. Maggie becomes determined to remove the children from their mother as she sets out to prove that she is an unfit mother. Matters escalate when the police become the subjects of a series of attacks. |
Episode 6 - Dead RingerTom takes annual leave to go to a wedding and puts Nick in charge. Nick, therefore, has the chance to run the station during Tom's absence, but his job is made more complicated by the discovery of an unidentified body in Mt. Thomas, bringing Nick's old Homicide Squad rivals to town. But Nick is determined to win against all odds and solve the case. |
Episode 7 - Salutary LessonsWayne & Maggie look into the disappearance of Inspector Faulkner's underage niece Kim and find her living with her teacher Ben. They are helpless but her desperate mother will do anything to get her back. Meanwhile, PJ investigates the Hughes brothers who are the chief suspects in an unsolved interstate payroll robbery. |
Episode 8 - Shadow ManWhen the Heelers are called upon to investigate the rape of Sandy Fielding in Widgeree, their prime suspect is a local prowler. However, the situation becomes complicated when it is discovered that the married victim is having an affair. It is up to the Heelers, and a Magistrate, to identify the true rapist. Maggie is the lead investigator which gives her a new insight into detective work. |
Episode 9 - Trust MeBoth Nick and Wayne's private lives are infringing on their work. Nick has to arrest the brother of his lover, Sasha, and Wayne is accused of bashing the husband of a woman he had a brief fling with. The situation becomes complicated when it appears both cases aren't entirely unrelated. |
Episode 10 - ParentingNick is drawn into a family's problems when the parents of a star basketballer become victims of vandalism. Tom's daughter Susan returns to Mt Thomas unexpectedly with some news. |
Episode 11 - Gun CrazyAfter a gun shop is burgled Wayne throws himself into the world of guns. When Tom is taken hostage by ex-cop Frank Powell, Wayne goes overboard and shoots Frank. Whilst recovering in hospital, Frank is arrested for the burglary. But are the Heelers looking in the right direction? |
Episode 12 - With PrejudiceMt Thomas is subjected to the scrutiny of the outside world when the media - both local and international - invade the community after the disappearance of a five-year-old girl. |
Episode 13 - Paranoia: Part 1When officers from Internal Investigations arrive in town en masse, including Maggie's older brother Michael, to probe allegations of corruption and narcotics smuggling among the Heelers, tempers fray. The day goes from bad to worse when a trio of prisoners escape while being transported, Chris and Adam are hostages at the pub, and Tom is shot while acting as a mediator. |
Episode 14 - Paranoia: Part 2The mood of paranoia among the Heelers intensifies as they set out to capture the prison escapees and avenge Tom's shooting. The search continues for Olive Katavich and her murderous accomplices as they hide out from the Heelers and the rest of the officers. Maggie considers resigning after a confrontation from Wayne and a less than friendly welcome from her brother Michael. |
Episode 15 - The CollectorA routine robbery investigation becomes somewhat complicated when Aboriginal artefacts are involved. The Heelers adopt a kid-gloves approach but run into a fair amount of trouble just the same. |
Episode 16 - The Homecoming QueenAn old high school friend visits Tom after Maggie wins concert tickets in a radio contest but soon comes under suspicion in a robbery investigation. Is there a link between the robbery and the return of Tom's old school friend? |
Episode 17 - SecretsPro-active Policing is required when a local schoolgirl becomes the victim of harassment by her classmates after she has an abortion, prompting action from the Mt Thomas officers who vow to stamp out the problem for good. Meanwhile, Wayne's friends try to cheer him up after he receives divorce papers from Roz and Tom asks out Chris to fend off the advances of an admirer. |
Episode 18 - The Last StrawThe Blue Heelers are embroiled in a bovine saga when a farmer's prize bull is shot dead. Meanwhile, on the personal front, Adam realizes that Chris, despite their night together, is not remotely interested in him. |
Episode 19 - The Best of RivalsThe lives of Wayne and Nick tragically collide when Nick befriends a young graffiti artist and Wayne helps a mate. Maggie and Wayne prepare for the senior-constable exam. |
Episode 20 - Swings and RoundaboutsThe Blue Heelers investigate a drug theft at the local hospital. |
Episode 21 - Double Jeopardy: Part 1The Heelers learn well-known trouble-maker Joe Kenny has been given an early release from prison and batten down the hatches in anticipation of fresh mayhem. Wayne becomes involved with Kenny's wife and convinces her to help the police but his promise of protection falls through, leaving him open to an allegation of sexual harassment. Tom prepares for a visit from Acting Inspector Monica Draper. |
Episode 22 - Double Jeopardy: Part 2After the Kenny brothers rough-up Wayne, he has to fight to save both his career and reputation when Joe's wife charges him with sexual harassment. |

Episode 24 - Just DessertsPJ is a key witness in a case concerning a death threat made by a campaign worker of local Member of Parliament George Tobias against an election rival. When the prosecutor calls in sick with appendicitis, Maggie has to fill in. But can she match up against the experience of defense lawyer Brady Jackson? After Maggie becomes friendly with Brady, PJ shows signs of jealousy. |
Episode 25 - Unnatural DeathWhen the police investigate the murder of a Vietnam veteran found stabbed to death in his hospital bed, they focus their investigations on a schizophrenic man obsessed with knives. |
Episode 26 - Tough LoveMembers of a nearby commune are suspects in a string of burglaries. Much to his dismay, Tom's daughter is among their members. Nick has to relive a nightmare in order to help Tom's daughter escape from one of her own. Tom is honored with a long-service award. |
Episode 27 - A Question of LoyaltiesAfter PJ is caught up in a bank robbery with Maggie, he is fingered by the offender as an accomplice and suspended after a large amount of the stolen money is found in his house. Maggie enlists the help of an old ally to get to the truth behind the allegations hanging over PJ, clear his name, and to prove that he was set up. |
Episode 28 - Vow of SilenceWhen Chris' niece runs away, abuse is suspected. PJ's suspicions about the local priest are confirmed when he is named by the boyfriend of the young girl's mother. |
Episode 29 - Juggling with SmokeMelbourne Cup day hardly brings Mt. Thomas to a standstill when a series of burglaries rock the town. |
Episode 30 - The Discount SuitEverything seems to be coming together for Wayne when he finds friendship with Sal. After restoring an old motorbike in Sal's garage, Wayne is thrilled to learn that the bike is worth thousands of dollars. Wayne has to balance his job and loyalty to a friend when a mate's blood alcohol sample inexplicably goes missing. Meanwhile, PJ investigates a series of attacks on local businesses. |
Episode 31 - Brotherly Love: Part 1At Tom's annual police Christmas party, an intoxicated Nick announces his and Sasha's engagement. After the party, Maggie and PJ encounter their friend and fellow party-goer Gina Belfanti after she has been raped. Upon interviewing everyone who was at the party, it is learned Adam left the party with Gina but he refuses to go into detail about what happened between them. |
Episode 32 - Brotherly Love: Part 2The Mt Thomas police are still trying to find Gina's rapist. After Adam's brother is cleared, a next suspect is a man who works for Chris at The Imperial. The police decide to set up their suspect by using Maggie as the bait, but will PJ and the others save her in time after the plan is called off? Meanwhile, Sasha and Nick's relationship comes to an end and PJ and Maggie share their first kiss. |
Episode 33 - Once Only Withdrawal: Part 1Bush fires are raging all around and the police are trying to inform the local community and stumble across an armed robbery. One suspect is caught, and he forces the police to take him to the unfinished and evacuated hospital. He has a plan and everyone there is in danger. Maggie stumbles in on what's happening, but the phone lines are down, so she is on her own. |
Episode 34 - Once Only Withdrawal: Part 2Continuing the drama, a siege has developed at the Mt. Thomas hospital. The situation changes as the police are alerted and so are the criminals when Maggie's cover is blown. This hostage situation has just gotten worse. But how can Tom Croydon and his officers solve this dangerous crisis? |
Episode 35 - Second InningsEveryone is hyped up about an upcoming local cricket match. A star player for Mount Thomas, however, gets into involved in a car accident, which leads to a theft of his parent's butcher's shop and his family problems spill out over the police force. Cricket team rivalry, stolen meat, and suspicious fingerprints. Could all this lead to the capture of a wanted criminal? |
Episode 36 - Spider ManWhen a child is found dead and then the circumstances reveal it was no accident, this affects Nick very deeply. But things are going to get worse for the police. The prime suspect in a series of child murders is found dead under mysterious circumstances while in police custody and Nick, haunted by memories of his daughter, becomes a suspect when he shows little or no remorse for the man's death. |
Episode 37 - Day of ReckoningAt the Coroner's Inquest, Nick learns that he is the prime suspect in the death of a suspected child killer who died at the station while in Nick's custody. |
Episode 38 - Sex and DeathWhen the Heelers are called out to a nasty road accident they are shocked to discover that one of the injured is Adam Cooper. What exactly was he doing in a car that appeared to have been drag racing and what else is he hiding from them? With rain washing away evidence, the rest of the police force have to discover what actually happened while Adam is in a coma. |
Episode 39 - Not in My BackyardPlans to build a high-security prison for the criminally insane in the area have the locals up in arms. Vandalism and shooting occur. Tensions in the community run high and the local cops are accused of colluding with the demonstrators. As the police investigate, it's the local general hospital that holds the answers. |
Episode 40 - All Part of the ServiceTom creates a monster when he encourages an elderly, civic-minded school crossing supervisor and has to deal with explosive consequences. Wayne becomes involved with a local schoolteacher after her son goes missing. Whilst Ernie Pringle, the lollipop man, is causing more and more trouble for everyone, including the police, even though he is only trying to be helpful. But is he just a stirrer? |
Episode 41 - Dog DaysThere's a sheep killer in the area and fingers are pointing at local dogs, Tom's included. With rumors about the mythical Mt Thomas Puma wandering the countryside, the local farmers and the Mt. Thomas cops are determined to hunt down the animal responsible. Meanwhile, Wayne plays the field at home. |
Episode 42 - An Act of Random ViolenceA prisoner has escaped and has Wayne in his sights, as it looks like he escaped looking for revenge. This will bring Wayne, Gabe, and her children into the firing line, as the police hunt for this dangerous criminal. |
