The team investigates whether the remains of a Roman mining town lie beneath Ffrith in North Wales, a village in close proximity to a rich supply of lead.

The team travels to Alfoldean in Sussex to investigate a Roman coaching inn. Hoping to uncover the story of the settlement, the team is overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the site.

In the north west of Scotland at Applecross, the team excavate a monumental stone tower known as a broch, which is one of Britain's largest Iron Age structures.
