Season 8 Episode Guide

Episode 1 - Elimination 1

The show begins in an old movie theatre in Melbourne's Albert Park. Two couples, both die-hard fans of the show, compete to become contestants.

Episode 2 - Elimination 2

Two more teams of fans go head to head in a 24-hour challenge. The winners will be the second and final team of fans to move into The Block.
Episode 3 - Fans Meet Faves

Faves Brad and Dale and Alyssa and Lysandra team up against our new comers in a styling challenge to decide who lives where on The Block.
Episode 4 - Apartment Challenge: Fans v faves

Judges Neale Whitaker and Darren Palmer decide on the winners of the challenge. They are given first and second choice of apartments and $5000 cash.
Episode 5 - Move In, Camp Out

It's the first official day on The Block and the teams discover that over the next 10 weeks they each need to create a three storey, three bedroom, three bathroom apartment.
Episode 6 - Super Luke

Work continues on the week one rooms and Keith gives the teams a near impossible 24 hour deadline.

Episode 7 - Challenge: Christopher Boots

The contestants need to design and create bedside lamps and a floor lamp that must be used in their week one room.

Episode 8 - Scott and Shelley Walk Around The Block

There's 48 hours until our teams need to deliver their first bedrooms, and the contestants have Keith on the warpath.

Episode 9 - The Block UNLOCKED

Episode 10 - Guest Bedroom Room Reveal

The contestants hand over their first completed room, the guest bedroom. For the first time, the judges don't know whose rooms they are judging.
Episode 11 - Triple Room Week

It's the beginning of another week of renovating and the pressure builds for one team of new comers.

Episode 12 - Bathroom Disasters

Scotty has an offer some teams can't refuse. The week one winners are shocked to find there's more to first place than the cash prize.

Episode 13 - Square Metre House Challenge

Midway through their second week of renovating, the weary contestants have another challenge on their hands.

Episode 14 - Sleepy Steve and Chantelle

Scotty and Shelley visit The Block to check on progress and discover one couple is struggling with the work load.

It's the end of a huge week of renovating as the contestants race to deliver their laundries, bathrooms and drying terraces.
Episode 17 - Darren Palmer Master Class

Judge Darren Palmer treats the fans to a styling workshop where they learn how to make the most out of their apartments.
Episode 18 - The Morning After

All the contestants must turn their attention to the common area where decisions need to be made.

Shelley Craft introduces the teams to furniture designer Mark Tuckey for their latest challenge.

Episode 20 - Wall Wars

Keith puts the pressure on everyone to work harder in the communal area. Steve steps outside his comfort zone and goes shopping on his own for the first time.
Episode 21 - The Block UNLOCKED

Shelley takes a look behind the curtain at the week that was, revealing the judge's candid thoughts about the teams' bathrooms and terraces.

Episode 22 - Bedroom Two Room Reveal

The contestants complete another bedroom and the faves discover they've got some strong competition. Steve and Chantelle's risky parquetry wall surprises the judges.

Episode 23 - The Forgotten Pool

The contestants begin work on their main bathrooms and they also have the enormous task of completing the pool and common area downstairs.
Episode 24 - Pool Reveal

The communal pool area downstairs is finally finished and Scotty is impressed with the end result.

Episode 25 - A Block Wedding & The Hotel Art Challenge

It's a Block wedding when 2012 contestants Brad and Lara get married. Everyone enjoys a night off from renovating followed by a leisurely lunch with Scotty.
Episode 26 - Keith In The Middle

Bathrooms are progressing well and the competition is hotting up. All the teams have something special to impress the judges and one team is spending up big.
Episode 27 - The Block UNLOCKED

Shelley looks back at the week that was. A divisive bedroom leaves the judges split. Kyal and Kara are anointed the Cash Cow king and queen. And main bathrooms are well underway.
Episode 28 - Main Bathroom Room Reveal

The teams are relieved to complete their main bathrooms and hand them over for judging. Tensions are high when Scotty reveals the scores.
Episode 29 - Kitchen Week Begins

Kitchen week is always stressful and one couple starts without a builder. Even our experienced renovators start to crack under the pressure.
Episode 30 - Budget Blues

Budget woes hit with three out of four teams in desperate need of more funds to continue renovating. One couple try and change their kitchen layout at the eleventh hour.
Episode 31 - Shelley's Wallpaper Challenge

The teams take a break from the stresses of kitchen week and meet Shelley for a chance to win some much needed renovating money.

Episode 32 - The Heart of the Home

Twins Alisa and Lysandra re-think the design of their kitchen and another couple continue to spend all their winnings.

Episode 34 - Kitchen Room Reveal

The kitchen is known as the heart of the home and all four Block kitchens are completed and handed over for judging.

Episode 35 - The Ground Floor

It's the start of Living and Dining Room Week for the fans and faves. It's a huge space to renovate in one week.
Episode 36 - The Block Under Attack

It's mid-week madness as the living and dining areas start to come to life. All four teams come up with their own original ideas, hoping to impress the judges.
Episode 37 - Phil and Amity Return

Scotty and foreman Keith pay a special visit to a local primary school to lend a hand, and Shelley surprises the teams with a gardening challenge.
Episode 38 - The Block's Best Kept Secret

The living and dining rooms begin to take shape with fireplaces and timber feature walls for some teams and plenty of painting for all the teams.
Episode 39 - The Block UNLOCKED

Join Shelley Craft and hear what the judges thought about the completed kitchens. We'll also check on progress of the living and dining rooms.
Episode 40 - Living & Dining Room Reveal

Judges Neale, Shaynna and Darren judge the rooms and one team walks away with $10,000 cash to put towards renovating the rest of their apartment.
Episode 41 - Winners Aren't Always Grinners

The start of another week means another room to renovate. The contestants get to work on their master bedrooms and ensuites.
Episode 42 - Comedy Night

Its Comedy Night on The Block as the teams try their luck at stand up comedy, with reluctance from some contestants.
Episode 43 - Lighthouse Foundation Challenge

The teams join Shelley for a very special challenge, making over bedrooms for the Lighthouse Foundation. There's a chance for the teams to win $5000 towards their renovation.
Episode 44 - Silly Pranks and Short Tempers

There's tension all round as each team are required to finish up all internal areas. Keith and Steve are not seeing eye to eye. Alisa and Lysandra are also butting heads.
Episode 45 - The Block UNLOCKED

Episode 46 - Master Bed & Ensuite Room Reveal

The blockheads hand over the master bedrooms and ensuites for judging, which means their interior spaces are now complete.
Episode 47 - Time to Finish The Block

Scotty reveals the scores for the master bedrooms and ensuites and there's just half a point between first and second place.

Episode 48 - The Heat Is On

The exterior terraces begin to take shape while changes to the re-do rooms take a smashing. Budgets are tight, so while some work smarter, others work harder.

Episode 49 - Beach Volleyball Tournament

Shelley has a challenge worth $5000, that will put to test everything our blockheads have learnt about renovating and styling since walking on to The Block nine weeks ago.
Episode 50 - The Last Day

Scotty and Shelley pay the teams one last on site visit before they complete their renovation and life on a building site is uncomfortable for everyone as heatwave sets in.
Episode 51 - The Block UNLOCKED

Episode 52 - Terrace Room Reveal

The heat is on as The Block's last rooms, the first floor and roof top terraces, are up for judging.

This is a weeklong challenge that pits team against team, neighbour against neighbour. But winning this week could make all the difference come auction day for our Block teams.
Episode 54 - Bedroom Blitz

It's House 1 versus House 2. Whoever scores the highest points, wins extra cash off their reserve price come auction day.

Episode 55 - The First Points

The teams go all out to impress the judges and the first three amazing rooms for each challenge house are delivered.

Episode 56 - Two House Challenge Continues

With only a few days left to completely transform two whole houses, the pressure gets too much for one team as they turn against each other.
Episode 57 - The Block: Fans v Faves Unlocked

A special one hour episode of The Block Unlocked. We take a look back at this years teams and the judges give us their verdict on who they think will win.
Episode 58 - The Interiors

With only hours until tools down, the teams race to finish the interiors of the two challenge houses.
Episode 59 - The Final Judgment

The judges look over the entire houses and give their final scores of the season, this time to determine which teams get an extra $10,000 off their reserve prices.
Episode 60 - Open For Inspections

The winners of the final challenge week are announced and two teams will head into the auction with almost $30,000 off their reserves.
Episode 61 - The Block Fans v Faves Auction

After 10 weeks of renovating the big day has arrived. It's auction time! The teams find out their reserve prices and the auctions can now start. Who will win?
