Episode 1 - A New Start, Pt. 1

A new year has begun at Degrassi High. Erica’s summer romance is over, but now she may be pregnant and is considering having an abortion. Although Erica’s twin sister Heather is strongly against abortion, she finally accepts Erica’s decision and offers her support.

  

Episode 2 - A New Start, Pt. 2

Erica decides to keep the pregnancy a secret, only telling Heather about it. She also decides to have an abortion; Heather disapproves of this, and this difference could tear the twins apart.

  

Episode 3 - Breaking Up Is Hard to Do

When Michelle’s parents split up, she is forced to choose between them, which proves to be a difficult decision. Erica’s abortion wasn’t easy for her, and now someone at Degrassi is trying to make things even tougher.

  

Episode 4 - Dream On

Arthur develops a crush on Caitlin and begins to daydream about going out with her. Meanwhile, Caitlin accepts Claude’s invitation to the movies, even though she has a date with Joey for the same night.

  

Episode 5 - Everybody Wants Something

With Lucy behind the camera, the Zits (Joey, Snake and Wheels) make a nonsexist rock video. Caitlin and Joey learn that breaking up is hard to do. The hate campaign against Erica escalates, and she learns that Liz is the one who has been harassing her because of her abortion.

  

Episode 6 - Nobody's Perfect

Kathleen’s new boyfriend Scott becomes physically and emotionally abusive. Kathleen is shocked by his behavior and struggles to understand him.

  

Episode 7 - Just Friends

At a party, Heather throws herself at Wheels and seriously damages their friendship. The “Have Nots” - Kathleen, Melanie, and Diana - welcome Maya into their gang, but then offend her by not inviting her to a movie because the theater isn’t accessible to handicapped persons. LD. finds out she has leukemia.

Diana, determined to grow up and chafing under her older brother’s authority, tries to change her “good girl” image by smoking and drinking. Meanwhile, Joey, Snake and Wheels suffer deflated egos and wallets when they attend a striptease show.

  

Episode 9 - Sixteen, Pt. 1

Michelle’s father’s rigidity and his prejudice toward B.L.T. convinces her, now that she’s sixteen, to move out and live on her own. Lucy comforts LD. as she faces her fears about having leukemia.

When Caitlin agrees to help Claude carry out an illegal antinuclear action, he winds up leaving her in the lurch. Scott beats up Kathleen again and she reports him to the police.

When Erica starts seeing a new boy, her twin Heather is afraid that she will become pregnant again and get another abortion. Meanwhile, Alison and Amy fight over Snake, and Scooter suddenly discovers that his pal Tessa is (gasp!) a girl.

  

Episode 13 - Testing 1...2...3

Joey finally gets his driver’s license, but finds out that his academic difficulties are due to a learning disability. Caitlin, anxiously awaiting a court appearance for her civil disobedience, accepts Maya’s offer to accompany her after Claude reneges on his promise to go with her.

  

Episode 14 - It Creeps!

With the help of her schoolmates, Lucy directs her first movie, a feminist horror film called It Creeps! Shane returns, after many months in rehab, wanting to see Spike.

  

Episode 15 - Stressed Out

Facing final exams, Michelle starts taking caffeine pills to extend her study time. Snake is afraid of failing his driving test again and develops psychosomatic symptoms. Meanwhile, Caitlin mistakenly presumes that her favorite teacher, Ms. Avery, is being fired and writes a letter of protest.
