Episode 1 - School DaysBill puts together healthy lunch boxes for the family, then heads to teach at a Suburban Tech College in South West Sydney to inspire a group of students. Flipping pancakes and trading jokes are the order of the day. Then it’s on to teach a group of men unfamiliar with the kitchen - it’s a challenge, but robust humour sees the accomplishment of a roast with style. |
Episode 2 - Rainy DaysEverything slows down on a rainy day. It’s the perfect opportunity to close the doors, stay indoors and cook those recipes that take a little longer, food that is warming and comforting. Putting something away for a rainy day implies frugality, and for Bill having food in the freezer is like money in the bank. Bill cooks from the pantry and for the freezer, using staples that most of us have on hand. |
Episode 3 - Good Old DaysBill is seen as quintessentially Sydney, sunny and blonde, but in fact he grew up in Melbourne. Bill introduces us to his family history, generations of butchers and bakers, and to his home town. His love of other cultures and a delight in his own Australian heritage all come together to influence and inspire in both Melbourne and Sydney. |
Episode 4 - Far Flung DaysWhen Bill was nineteen he went on his first international food adventure; it started in New York and ended in Spain. Bill travels nowadays are more likely to be a whistle-stop tour for a book signing or launch, but all travel inspires Bill. Room service is a treat he relishes in this hurried schedule and it influences a menu he puts together, as does a small fish market café in Stockholm. Bill then pulls out all stops creating a paella feast as the sun sets over a Sydney summer afternoon. |
Episode 5 - DaylightLife and food is all about balance. Sometimes it’s tricky, but Bill gives helpful hints on how to make that balance work for you, by showing us ways to make food that is healthy and delicious for all times of the day in not much time at all. Seafood is great place to start with any meal that is good for you, and Bill cooks up some sublime seafood dishes that take minutes. |
Episode 6 - Days TogetherBill has been auctioned off to create a first anniversary dinner, and he shows us how special an intimate dinner for two can be, once you throw in a spectacular natural setting and deliciously romantic food. Your wedding should be the happiest day of your life and should truly reflect what you are all about. Bill takes us through the wonderful menu he plans with one of his dearest friends for her and her partner’s special day. And of course there should be that special treat for your own partner to keep the romance alive. |
Episode 7 - Holly DaysIt’s Christmas time in Sydney, it’s hot and the seafood is on the barbecue. This is Bill’s family Christmas, Australian-style with a little nod to tradition, still festive but simplifi ed. Boxing Day is for relaxing after the flurry of Christmas. Bill puts together a picnic for friends by the harbour that reflects just that. |
